Dyslexia Graduate Certificate

The major purpose of the MSE programs offered through the Elementary, Literacy, and Special Education is to offer advanced preparation in assessment, planning, and instructional strategies to personnel working with school age children. MSE programs are standards based, designed around exemplary educational practices, and aligned with the Arkansas Competencies. Master’s programs are currently available in reading and special education with various licensure/endorsement programs offered as well.

A program of study exists for:

  • GC, Dyslexia (leading to an Arkansas teaching endorsement)

Course Requirements 

The requirements for the  Arkansas Dyslexia Endorsement K-12 can be met with 15 hours of study. The state of Arkansas requires a licensure test for the Dyslexia Endorsement.

  • ELSE 6347 – Language and Literacy
  • ELSE 6341 – Early Literacy and Intervention
  • ELSE 6346 – Adolescent Literacy and Intervention
  • ELSE 6314 – Identifying Dyslexia and Other Reading Difficulties
  • ELSE 6343 – Clinical Practicum in Reading
