Scholarships

 

小草影院 Foundation Scholarships

The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics offer several scholarships for students in the various disciplines of the college. To apply for these scholarships, students should complete the 小草影院 Foundation Scholarship Application. The application is open from January 7, 2019 to March 15, 2019.

Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry

  • E.E. Cordrey Scholarship – For entering freshmen planning to major in chemistry.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering

  • Computer Science Student Scholarship – For a full-time student majoring in Computer Science. Financial need may be considered.
  • Richard and Terri Harper Jordan Scholarship – For full-time female student seeking a degree in Computer Science with a cumulative GPA of 2.75. Financial need may be considered.

 

Department of Mathematics

  • O. L. Hughes Mathematics Scholarship – For full-time entering freshmen majoring in mathematics. Selection based on integrity, character and academic seriousness. Preference given to Camden High School graduates.

 

Department of Physics and Astronomy

  • O. M. Prince Physics and Astronomy Department Scholarship – For entering freshmen majoring in physics. Selection based on academic performance.

 

  • Heather Woolverton Memorial Scholarship -For full-time female students majoring in physics. Selection based an ACT of 24 or above and a minimum GPA of 2.75. Consideration may be given to financial need.

 

Pre-Dental

  • Joe E. and Vada Russell Scholarship – For pre-dental students. Selection based on scholarly ability with consideration given to financial need.

 

Science Education

  • Willard & Pat Walker Bachelor of Science in Education Scholarship Fund – Eligible students are those pursuing degrees in the life sciences or physical sciences leading to K-12 teaching licensure. Minimum GPA of 2.75 or above. Consideration may be given to financial need.

 

Other Scholarships

小草影院 EAST Program Scholarship

The 小草影院 EAST scholarships recognize 小草影院’s historic role in the development and growth of the EAST program. A graduate of 小草影院 created the EAST program, and 小草影院 has continued its relationship with EAST in multiple ways as the program has grown and achieved fame within Arkansas and in other states. EAST scholarships are awarded to high school graduates that have been active members of EAST programs without regard to their college major in so far as that major is offered at 小草影院.

Criteria for Eligibility:

  • Submit a scholarship application and other required materials by the published deadline.
  • Completion of 2 years active participation in EAST program (grades 9-12).
  • High school GPA of 2.50 or greater and in high school core course requirements.
  • Minimum ACT composite score of 21 or SAT composite score of 1060 (out of 1600).
  • Preference may be given to Arkansas graduates; however, out-of-state students will be considered.
  • Must be a full-time entering freshman at 小草影院 in the fall semester following high school graduation.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.

Advancement of Undergraduate Research in the Sciences (AURS)

The Advancement of Undergraduate Research in the Sciences (AURS) fund was established to support undergraduate research in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the 小草影院. We believe that engaging undergraduates in fundamental research prepares them for graduate or professional school as well as enhancing their undergraduate education.

Summer Research Stipends are聽evaluated聽by a ad-hoc committee of faculty formed by the CNSM dean鈥檚 office. All awards were聽sponsored by The Advancement of Undergraduate Research in the Sciences Endowment.

Southwestern Energy Endowed Fund for Student Research

The Southwestern Energy Endowed Fund for Student Research was established to support undergraduate and graduate student research in the the fields of Environmental Science, Geography, and Physics. The award may be used for all ordinary and necessary expenses associated with conducting research projects, including but not limited to, supplies and equipment, travel and presentation of research at local, state, and national conferences and symposia.
