The university’s primary function is to provide students with access to educational programs and activities. Actions that interfere with this primary function or limit any person’s access to the university’s primary function are prohibited and considered disorderly and disruptive conduct. Prohibited offenses include, but are not limited to:
- Forgery, misrepresenting information, providing false information to police or other university officials.
- Alcohol and/or drug use or possession (including possession of drug paraphernalia).
- Theft, vandalism or unauthorized presence on university premises.
- Disorderly or disruptive conduct, whether in the classroom or elsewhere on campus, or conduct that disrupts the peace and good order of the university.
- Hazing, physical harm or threats of physical harm, harassment, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, stalking, or intimidation.
- Non-compliance, failure to respond or showing disrespect to university officials.
- Violation of federal, state or local laws or ordinances.
- Aiding or assisting in prohibited conduct.
- Violation of other university policies such as the computer use policy, housing policies, and student life policies.
Some behaviors are subject to suspension (temporary removal) or expulsion (permanent removal) from the University.聽 Such behaviors may include, but are not limited to:
- Possession of a firearm on campus.聽 All firearms are prohibited, even if they are for hunting purposes.聽 Students found to be in possession of a firearm are subject to a minimum three (3) year suspension.
- Possession or use of hard drugs or a significant quantity of marijuana or intent to distribute.
- Burglary or theft of property.
- Significant damage to property.
- Sexual assault and other serious sex offenses.
- Aggravated assault or battery.
- Making a threat of serious physical violence
- False reporting of an emergency such as false fire alarm and bomb threat.
- Repeated violations of university policy.
The University reserves the right to suspend or expel students for other reasons not previously listed to provide a safe and orderly campus environment.
